RAINBOW CICHLID
(Pelvicachromis pulcher)
One of Africa’s most beautiful cichlids. Its body shimmers in shades of purple, gold, and olive green, while the female’s intensely red belly, from which the species takes its name. The rainbow cichlid is a fish with a lively yet gentle nature, known for its intelligence and curiosity about its surroundings. But its most striking behavior is its exceptionally protective parenting. The female lays eggs in caves or under roots, and both parents guard the nest and guide the young for the first few days of their lives, warding off intruders. Watching their loving care is one of the most beautiful spectacles in the underwater world.
CONGO TETRA
(Phenacogrammus interruptus)
Their long, silky fins shimmer with every hue of the rainbow: from blue and green to gold and purple. In the wild, they inhabit the calm tributaries of the Congo River, where they form numerous schools that move like shimmering ribbons of light. Males are slightly larger and more colorful, and their fins gently undulate in the water like the feathers of exotic birds. Glowfish are gentle and sociable fish – they thrive in groups, where they can swirl together among the plants like living sparks. Their glow and harmonious movement add a unique, mesmerizing charm to the aquarium.
